So Cal Hugh and I are creating a national directory for those who would like to offer "Retro Parties" as part of your business. This will be a FREE service for ODJT members until the end of 2009.

For now, we just have a few requirements to get involved:

1. You must either have a seperate website devoted to doing Retro Parties OR you must have a seperate PAGE on your current site devoted to doing Retro Parties, in which you describe what it is and what you can provide.

2. You must provide a link back to the directory on your site. We will provide the graphic; you just need to post it and make it a hyperlink back to our site.

3. We'll expect you to provide a MINIMUM of:

a. A Black Light that can cover your average dance floor

b. A Strobe light that can cover your average dance floor

c. At least 1 police beacon OR another "retro" light.

d. A real mirror ball

We are still working out details, and there may be more to come.

The site, when up and running will be www.RetroDancePartyUSA.com

The graphics ave been designed by our very own Hank Davidson, so you KNOW they are awesome.... Travis will be our web host.

Soon, there will be a banner ad on ODJT, but for now, if you have interest in listing on our site, just post in this thread.

To be up front, Hugh and I are not looking - at least for the next year - to make any profit directly from anybody who lists on our site. Rather, the idea is to create more business for he and I, as well as you, in the area of DJing that we enjoy the most.... music from the 1950's - 1990's, but with a focus on the 70's and 80's.

You can visit MY web page to get an idea of what we are looking for from you, when describing it to those who visit your page.

www.retrospins.com

More to come. I hope you will all at least consider this if you have interest. I will get you a graphic that shows our logo, and the "feel" we want to project, hopefully later today ( I forgot my thumb drive with the images at home, and I am at work now ).

So, again, if you have interest in this FREE service, please just post in this thread for now. Also, once it is up and running, Hugh and I have already discussed that we are fully willing to listen to all ideas on how to improve the site from those who list on the site.

Thank You.

Papa and Hugh.

OK, here is the logo:

But we do have different color schemes and variations of this already designed.

EDIT TO CLARIFY.... we will not charge for a listing before the end of 2009, but that doesn't mean there won't be OPTIONAL services that will be available at a cost.

Yes... see Ben.

LOL... we don't even know exactly what services we will offer, but what we are hoping is that EVENTUALLY it becomes like an organization, rather than just a listing service, if you follow me.

Papa,

I am excited and proud to serve with you in this. Here's to the future with a lot of great ODJT professionals!!

Hugh

It was YOUR idea.

I guess I can handle the Canadian division?

LOL... we wanted JUST retrodanceparty but one of those sites that advertise all kinds of crap already had it.

But, we would be happy to have you list.

I'm gonna think about this one. I'm not sure if I can pull off the Retro look, but I have a beacon!

This just not better be anything like that hoser who tried to run that "other" database with like-minded folk.

That's right, Mr. "I Like Long URLs That You Just Don't See Every Day," I called you a hoser. Whatchagonnado?
