Show Me Your Laptop Set Up

I have finally decided it's time to go 100% MP3 with a Laptop. My last wedding I had the flu and it wiped me out loading in my rig/cases of CDs.
I've done a quick search in this forum and can't seem to locate any laptop setups except for Cap's and Briar's.

If you use a laptop, do you mind showing me your rig? I need some ideas for my new set up.

I'll look tonight, but I have a roll in setup I built last year, with two Dell latitude D810 laptops that mount on a pre-wired port replicator stand. The power supplies, external hard drive cables, mice, and digital audio outputs stay wired all the time. I just drop the laptop on the stand plug in the external drives. One laptop is running PCDJ, or Winamp during dinner or cocktail time. The other one is running Winamp all the time as a back up, a guest preview setup or karaoke.

Found a couple of pictures, with out the laptops on the docking stations.

I have an SKB case. I custom made a shelf that sits on a pole mount bracket. I then have a piece of 1" black PVC pipe to mount the shelf on to. The pipe slides into pipe clamps screwed to the side of my case. I'll look for a pic but ask Joe (Alphabet), I think he took a picture of it last year when he was with me.


I found one.

Hey thanks for the props Ron, I don't have those pics on this laptop, but here's a recent one...

2 laptops - one for running Traktor, the other for running a graphic / title program for the 2 TV monitors.

I use the same style as Ron - 8x4 shuttle - 2 U-brackets (spray painted black), a piece of black PVC pipe (THANKS RON!), a speaker plate & then a piece of black, laminated particle board cut to size.

YES! I stay hydrated at my events... one's water, the other....um - I think it's ginger ale... :)

You know you really should think about using gaff tape.... clean that up would ya... you're givin' DJs a bad name.... and it's all your fault too... :sqwink:
 
Actually, that was my ash tray, my rum and coke, and my Coors Light :sqlaugh:


Those speakers don't care -- you can pour it right in if ya like, and they just sound better -- PEAVEY's :sqbiggrin:


@Rob: That was my niece's after the formal wedding, with all her drunk college buds. They dug all the cables -- kept telling me how professional I was, while they (and I) played beer pong... :D
