Adam - stop thinking what you like and prefer...it's about what the customer thinks and perceives.....I don't get "gut wrenching" bass out of my RCF705AS....never desired it for weddings......If you have to adjust songs, perhaps the source is the issue, not the output...

I'll try to sum this up as simple as I can. I personally feel the need to provide my clients with the best show that I can deliver, of course within reason. My clients have never complained about the sound from any of my other setups, and that has been Mackie and Pyle Pro. But in my experience and what I have heard, the Bose could use a little work to be a better dj speaker. Primarily a bit more bass...I'm not talking shaking the rafters and rattling the walls by any means.

Insofar as the Dynas are concerned...not having heard them....but based om specs..I don't know about "blowing out of the water"

As far as this goes. I guess I could stop by NLFX again, and show Ben the Bose, but they have let me hear the Dynas, and my oh my...I know which one I feel is better. Of course this is based on smaller portable speakers. Which is exactly what I am looking for. I can't stand lugging in big speakers, and trying to put tops on truss legs and such.
The big speakers and me do not mix anymore!

Your last line is right on the money.

My last groom client was impressed. Will the next one care? I doubt it.

You'd be surprised... I've booked weddings because I use Bose.... both grooms and brides have told me so....

Either they have Bose equipment or have heard them... even if what they've experienced is home theater or car stereo... the impression is "high quality", "prestine" sound reproduction.

None have indicated to me they want a club feel anyway so the Bose has always been a good fit.... so far.

BTW: That was a great review... it was honest and I think most if not all Bose users here would agree with your assesment of a single L1 Dual B1 setup. I know I do, since all last season that's exactly what I used... no one ever complained that it wasn't loud enough.

BTW: My event was 200+ people in a bigger pole shed type building. I would imagine most of the facilities I play in, the stick will be way more than enough. I don't know if I could honestly sell "Bose" to my clients/friends as a good club style speaker though? I think since my business motto is "friends first, then your dj"...I just don't think I could sell them on something I know isn't right. Again as mentioned on that other thread...."IF THE BRIDE AND GROOM ARE OK WITH THE BOSE SPEAKERS, NO MATTER WHAT, THEN THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WILL GET!!!"

I hear ya on the club thingy. I indicate to my wedding clients you really don't want a club style wedding do ya? Not one person has said "Yes."

5) Sometimes I feel like you need to manually adjust songs to make them sound as intended. I think it sucks, but really it sounds good when you do this, and people do notice the difference.

How would you know unless you recorded the song yourself?

You said it yourself, the system produces sound with great clarity. The system does a great job of reproducing what it is given. If one song sounds great and the next doesn't sound "as intended", and you haven't adjusted anything, the issue is with the source, not the speaker. Perhaps that song was ripped lower or not normalized or the original CD was badly produced.

DJMN: Are you leaving the remote connected to the Power Stand? Really this isn't necessary if you are. I only plug it in once upon initial setup for each gig with all the control knobs at 12 O'Clock then I unplug it and plug it into the other stand for a second to copy those settings to the second stand and unplug it. This sets both L1 power stands up to be the same settings... and as long as the power isn't turned off they will retain their setup.

I do this at each show.... I then use my mixer's EQ's and graphic EQ to shape my tone....

I usually use a song I'm very familar with to make my initial EQ setup.... and then make minute changes durring the night as the dance floor fills and empties... mostly my EQ remains flat unless I'm hearing unnecessary slap back or other room induced anomalies.

Does that make sense?

There are songs though that need to be adjusted...Young MC's - Bust a Move, Tone Loc - Wild Thing, even Flo Rida- Low.....It's must have been the same engineer; the bottom end is just cranked on these tracks...Then you've got Katy Perry - Hot n Cold...sounds like it was they forgot to turn up the bass....

I agree, however he had made it a "con" in his review of a speaker, when it is in fact not the speakers fault.

I am simply amazed!

I did an event tonight with over 500 in attendance, and guess what?? These babies did the job! :sqeek:

The bride and groom had a slide show...and had a sound issue. Well, they asked to used the cd drive in our computer and run the sound through our computer while the video played.

The speakers....easily, and I mean easily filled the room! That's right...just under 600 people, and the music was fantastic.

I then...used these speakers for the rest of the night.

Remember how I said I have been adjusting the volume to seek the better sound, tonight I did that less, and no one noticed.

Based on tonight these speakers get a fricken A+...and yes if you can't tell, I am pretty impressed. :sqembarrassed:

Sorry bout the Bose post..but this is relevant info. And Ben........I agree that there is better speakers out there...but I personally got to admit, these babies did a superb job at this event. :sqeek::sqeek:

I am literally shocked as all heck!

Next thing...remember my bitching about the bass....didn't even turn these babies up, and there was plenty of bass.

Turns out, there is a huge sound difference between my friends and my computer. His computer you can hear more low end, and it is just enough to satisfy my ears.

Yay!!!

Sorry bout the Bose post..but this is relevant info.
Nothing to be sorry about. You offered your experience with a product you found that works superbly for you. That is wonderful news and you should not be sorry about sharing it. Keep it up.

Where are the Bose signatures from some of our posters? Don't tell me they had to remove them?:sqmad:

Not that I know of.

and are we really gonna start the Bose BS again? Bad enough there's a couple people pushing it at every avenue which WILL STOP.. Do I really have to hear about the supposed censorship again?

I was just asking. No stirring of the Bose pot from my end. The Piece hates it when I use her cooking spoons for stirring stuff.

Now come over here and give me a hug. You big hunk!

Let's just say it was strongly suggested by those who like to flex the virtual muscle. Of course even when I don't mention the name in postings specifically relating to those things I still get nasty messages from those who get easily upset. But hey, I'm alive and live is good.:sqwink:

Ron I'd assumed you removed the images and forgot to remove the tags from your signature. I see no reason why you cannot fly your Bose logo, other people are flying their other respective brands. Have at it, if you catch any flack over it send them my way.

I appreciate that Dan but the gist of the message was best that I not. I volunteered to remove it so as not to upset those who are easily upset. And since the beginning of the suggested warning was about flexing muscle at me, I got the message.

Thanks.

Enough about this. Let's get back on topic.

Adam,
You'll continue to find more and more things that amaze you as you continue to use these speakers in question in ways you didn't think possible with conventional speakers.:sqwink:
